Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure that we present to you Green Mountain Academy's 2008 summer program offerings. Despite the long winter here in Vermont, spring is around the corner with a summer season to follow, packed with opportunities for cultural enrichment and intellectual growth.

On the following pages you will find a wide range of topics, many of which are sure to pique your interest. We continue to offer courses in academic subjects with distinguished speakers from far and wide as well as courses for people who want to develop their abilities and skills, for professional or personal reasons, for a reasonable investment of time and money in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We are offering discussions about political affairs, film screenings, culinary classes, photo workshops and more. Surely there is something for everyone at Green Mountain Academy this summer.

If you have not already done so, please consider becoming a member of Green Mountain Academy. A donation of $100 or more entitles you to membership, offering you the benefit of a 10% discount on classes while a $250 corporate membership allows businesses to extend this 10% discount to all of their full-time employees. Information about membership can be found on the inside back cover of this catalog and it is your support that enables us to serve the community. We can't do it without you.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Sally Handy, our wonderful Executive Director over the past year and a half for her outstanding contribution to furthering the goals and direction of Green Mountain Academy. Unfortunately for us, Sally and her family will be moving out of the area in June. We are very sad to see Sally go, but we are confident that with the strong foundation that Sally and Rita have laid, the Academy will continue to grow and prosper under a new Executive Director. We have much to look forward to.
